The Rhetorical Miracle in the Qur’anic Stories: An Applied Study on the Story of Moses (Peace Be Upon Him)

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the rhetorical miraculousness of Quranic narratives through an applied study of the story of Moses (peace be upon him), exploring its artistic and rhetorical abundance that epitomizes divine eloquence and the sublimity of prophetic objectives. The researcher adopted a descriptive-analytical approach to ground the concepts and foundations of miraculousness, alongside an applied rhetorical approach to analyze the Quranic textual structures related to Moses’ story. Additionally, a comparative method was employed to highlight the distinctiveness and transcendence of the Quranic style over human literary productions. The study yielded several significant findings, most notably: that rhetorical miraculousness is manifested in the remarkable stylistic diversity of the narrative, where repetition, brevity, artistic imagery, and dialogue converge in a harmonious rhetorical structure aligned with the contextual and intentional requirements. Furthermore, the research demonstrated that the Quranic presentation of Moses’ story transcends mere historical narration, serving as a comprehensive educational and faith-oriented discourse that reinforces ideological values in the hearts of believers. In conclusion, the researcher recommends intensifying applied rhetorical studies within Quranic narratives, emphasizing textual comparisons that illustrate the uniqueness and supremacy of divine discourse in eloquence.
