Abstract

This study aimed to identify proposed solutions for activating the role of higher education institutions in promoting community development amidst digital transformations. The study adopted a qualitative approach, and the researcher conducted interviews with 18 faculty members. The results of these interviews showed that faculty members provided five proposed solutions to activate the role of higher education institutions in promoting community development, which included: higher education institutions focusing on community public spaces, including buildings and public parks or community events that allow communication among all community members; higher education institutions supporting the community environment and empowering individuals within it while seeking personal and community flexibility; fostering local pride and a sense of high competence; increasing opportunities for teamwork and social participation and investing in local economic potential; adopting a communicative approach through which community members feel the importance of higher education institutions; and applying the principle of cooperative democracy and minority participation in the community environment. The study recommended emphasizing the role of higher education institutions in promoting community development goals amidst digital transformations through effective methods and targeted strategies.
